high velocity oil pumps

hi heard rumours of high velocity oil pump with no positive leads can any one help or is it only rumour

Ask Ken, Mike.  ;D   Is there really any benefit to having a high volume pump on a SOHC4  hipo motor ..? I would like to know because i have been waiting for these to be made.... ;)

well, guess one has to assume that since its not stated it's a 750 by default?
asking 'cause there are several work arounds for 400's (thicker GL1000 rotor implant), while 500/550 can use a 650's pump.
thing is my tuner friend says so many of oil pressure problem are related to the pressure regulator valve working overtime as it has no damping and not pump capacity... he has installed a threaded spring preload regulator for it.

 thanks for reply yes its 836 oil pressure ok most of the time bout 65 ish when i come off the track it sits between  0 and10 at idle ok with revs

Those numbers are pretty well par for the course Tony.
As long as the pumps are within spec. the only thing we do is add a little preload to the spring.
Any oil pressure issues we have had over the years where tracked back to bearing wear.
The pumps on these old girls are pretty solid and reliable.
Chasing a modified version of these pumps to fix a problem that may not exist (at least with the pump) could end up creating more problems rather than solving any.
If I saw those figures on my gauge at idle after a race I would not be to bent out of shape.
If it does worry you and it has run higher pressure under the same conditions previously, then the first thing I would be doing is checking bearing wear and the pump you have is still in speck.

What sort of oil temps do you have fresh off the track?
