« on: November 18, 2012, 06:50:10 PM »
I can get a cb650 cheap and thought about putting the engine in a chopper frame set up for a cb750 what difference is there in mounts I don't have the patience to wait for a 750 to come up.i can get the 650 for 400.00 a lot cheaper than what the750's are going for

actualy, that's about the same price as a 750 goes for. Putting the 650 in the 750 frame wont be very simple at all.. and in the end, your sprockets probably wont line up well.

All the 750's I've found are 1,500 on up. I'm going to use the complete bike the frame I have is a amen rigid. It's a bare frame

That's insane. I think you need to keep looking, or buy a cb 500-650 frame for that engine

Thats way expensive for a motor, I bought my extra 550 engine for 100 bucks, good compression, good bearings, I bet if I put carbs and ignition on it it'd run (and new gaskets as I've taken it down) Search harder for a motor, or send me your frame, I'll find a motor for it out here in California and send pics of the bike back! :) heh, good luck with the project, and shoot us some pics of the frame!

I'll never get rid of it. I have a amen savior frame that I'm rebuilding I just picked up the amen rigid a few weeks ago. Right now the area I live in people think their " barn find" is worth it's weight in gold. I'm going to look at a cb550 tomorrow. My son doesn't want me to get it says its way to nice to violate it into a bobber/chopper the guy is asking $1,200 for it. It is very nice but when junk ones are in the same price range what do you do.
