Why don't Aussies with business websites answer e-mail enquiries?

Not sure of the exact name... one was something like vintageandclassicbulbs.com and the other was for Dusting Sidecars. I think they may be sold through Premier.com or something like that.  Just frustrating.

if this info does not help then let me know your request and I will follow up for you, and let him know the disappointment and frustration our overseas members are feeling about no contact..

Only speaking from experience, I lived back in the late 70's early 80's at a place called Bourke, in NSW. Nowhere near Broken Hill but there was not much else to do there except drink and drink some more..... ;D ;D.. to stop this habit from killing me, I quickly learnt that it was better to stand on the other side of the bar and watch all the other mates get into it - and I got paid to watch them waste their money,, plus I also got a few winks from their girlfriends....when it came time to take them home... nudge nudge....

scunny:
better than drinking warm piss in a pommy tavern  :) :) never liked 4x, it was never really beer, seeing its from queensland.

best one brewed for my taste was called "tooths old" or "reschs"...

Your tireless scientific research into beer is remarkable. If only the world could harness that energy into AIDS, Alzheimers, cancer, etc.  Disease would disappear.

Anyhoo- When I was looking for a new sidecar, I kept contacting the guy who owns/runs Premiere. I loved the look of the Dusting. They're pretty rare here. Finally, after several months (I can be a bulldog when trying to find things), I find that he runs what we call a "junk yard" or more politely, a "salvage operation". I guess he makes the things by hand and is geting to rich on used fenders to worry about sidecars. I cam to the conclusion that the website is a vanity peice for him. Puts lead in his pencil to think he has a website. At least he might have told me just to bug off.

The bulb place has halogen bulbs for bikes going back to the '20s. I used to get 6V halogens for my pre-'69 Beemers and they work much better.  We had a guy with a Brough come in for a bulb and it killed me to send him somewhere else. A guy here in town can supply him, but I can't. That bugs me.  These guys in Australia have them. I want them.  So?!   HALLOOOOO IN THERE ERE ere ere  er    er   . . . .    .
Someone has money to spend! Anybody home?!

Know what I mean, jellybean?    I've given up on doing biz with that part of the world.

Parenthetically/OT- I've seen some nice Velos from NZ. Wonder why that is ?

Pricks are pricks wherever they live.

If they haven't bothered replying, don't waste your time

Their loss, you will probably find what you want somewhere else - I hope so anyway. :)

Uncle ernie - the guy with the bulbs is listed in www.whitepages.com.au under classic and vintage bulbs, blackwood, south australia - maybe a quick phone call and tell him to "answer my emails ya bastard". I actually know of him (anthony) through a car club I was tied up with and as far as I know he's normally pretty good.
Might cost a couple of bucks, but might end the frustration for you! You never know, his email might be playing up or having computer problems or something.
Cheers
Peter.

a phone call can work. I won some valves on ebay from DK and rang them to query the postage, I ended up getting 8 valves airmail for $22 NZ  ;D

Just heard from the bulb guy. Says he's been in the outback.  Does that mean he's nuts?  :o

No

It means he has gone walkabout or been bush bashing, camping, or even gone on holidays - "Outback" - further than you or I probably want to know or will ever go......
