Clutch wouldnt engage
« on: November 28, 2012, 02:52:20 PM »
Well today is the first day i begin using my bike as my commuter to work. All was good until light turned green and bike wouldnt shift out of neutral. Had to give it a couple of taps before it engaged. Been driving the bike around here and there after i installed new clutch plates. This has never happened before. Also i got my inspection sticker today and man what a joke. The guy didnt even turn the bike on to check anything. Makes me want to photoshop my own stickers (to scared to get in trouble doh). All he asked for was my insurance card and that was it. Whats the point

We don't even have to get these bikes inspected in NC, as long as its 35 or older.  Have you checked your springs?  Mine gave me trouble shifting down from 4th once so I couldn't get it to crank and as I was walking it to the trailer I heard it pop and then it shifted again.

Well, just from personal experience I had the same thing happen to me once the engine got hot the clutch wouldn't disengage easily. After riding it for awhile things kind of settled in.

And you know those guys from Indiana...

tx, sounds like your clutch cable adjustment is a bit off. BTW, what bike is it?
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
