It can be done. I got a speedo drive ring from a member here (check the classifieds, or search for DDC....Dual Disc Conversion).

It requires a couple of holes to be drilloed and tapped to mount it. Some people file down a stock speedo drive on certain models.

You'll need another caliper and rotor, of course, as well as a brake hose and I used a double banjo bolt.


It takes some fiddling with the RH caliper mount. There's nothing to do but fit, re-fit and fit some more until you get it to float correctly and center properly. Sorry, there's no easy way out here. I had to grind a little off the mounting pad and play with some spacers.

I tried a few different master cylinders seeking the lever feel I like. I ended up with an aftermarket M/C, but some people use stock or a GL1000 M/C. The BIGGEST difference in lever feel and stopping power came from adding EBC brake pads.
