Thinking of doing some zinc plating
« on: November 19, 2012, 06:36:20 PM »
I'm thinking of trying out some home zinc plating, so I found these guys for zinc - www.rotometals.com.

If you're interested, check out their sample pack or their free samples - with free shipping to US or Canada!  Thought that was worth sharing.

In related news, I have a power source question - I have a 12v dc power source with 3A of current I was going to use. I've read that the current should stay under 500mA for a home plating setup but I'm not sure why.  Anyone want to comment on this and maybe suggest an inexpensive way to keep the current down?  Or at least what resistor to buy?  I'm not what you'd call electrically gifted.   :P

Couple of 1.5 volt batteries in series is all the current you need.  Check this post:
