It's mixed blessing. With engine in raw aluminum you don't have to worry about paint chipping.

But I think I will go red on tank and covers to compensate for the black everywhere. Patriot red maybe.

Sometimes I feel I could go building forever - like Henri the painter in Cannery road. He was building a boat, but he was afraid of the sea - so he kept rebuilding and rebuilding:)

Honda Red would look good. Yes, building can go on for a long time, especially if there's snow on the ground or you have another bike to ride.
I'm 2 months into a front end upgrade....no hurry.

But of course there is more urgent stuff to get done. On top of vineyard pruning and trellis repairs I have to deal with my jeep's transmission.

That looked like the gears on "three on the tree" trans in my '62 Chevy p/u I rebuilt abut 4 times after removing the 235 6cyld and installing a 327 c.i.

It is the 3rd on the cluster gear. Looks like I will be able to replace it.

I found great SS clamps for carburetors. They fit in the groove on the insulator and allow for more tightening than the original.

I am reusing sprockets. They are 530 and in good shape, but I got only plain noring DID chain to save money.

I am not there yet. I would like to reuse the exhaust I have in my stash - and get decent quiet mufflers for it.

I think she needs 4-2.

The inside is not bad, I did electrolytic cleaning and it came out ok.

There was one pin hole on the bottom I had to solder up. The biggest issue is the valve area, it got bent a bit when i was removing really stuck petcock. I am not sure if regular petcock ring will seal it.
