question on swingarm bushings
« on: November 27, 2012, 11:14:57 AM »
I'm afraid I'll break the redish plastic caps/bushings trying to pry away?? Also, when I look in the fork bore it looks like the bushings are like 1.5" in length but then immediately followed by another sleeve/bushing to the other side? I do have that metal bushing out that the bolt rides thru.

The red cap I believe is just a dust cap. It looks a bit different on my 750 K4 though. Mine are metal.

The bushings on mine were about 1.5" long and had nothing in between.

What bike are we talking about?

Honda calls them thrust bushings (#52109-203-300)They sure seem like they'll just crack upon removal lol! Upon closer look I see the bushings and the other is just the grease inside :-[  I figure it's easier to ask then just blaze ahead sometimes. I'm thinking using the stock oem style bushings as designed, esp. after reading where "some" of the other design with brass lip may have a fit issue?

I shoved a new bronze set with a lip in with no problems.  Think I even have an extra set kicking around.  However, probably the best bet is to send the arm off to Hondaman for his signature swing arm refresh.
