Opinions on new CB1100F
« on: November 28, 2012, 10:14:20 AM »
For anyone from Australia or New Zealand, if you have or have ridden the CB1100F, what is your opinion? I'm not looking for all out performance, just a new bike that looks good and is comfortable for myself and my wife. None of the write-ups say anything about the comfort of the passenger, and at 65 years old, this is very important to me. I love the 70s era Hondas and still have my 1976 CB550F that I bought brand new. Thanks in advance for any info you could give me.

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

We're the same age and have the same values regarding that bike. If Honda has it at the IMS show in Long Beach next weekend, the wife and I will test sit and report back. I saw a short review in Cycle World, and the passenger portion of the seat appeared a bit on the short side.

My wife will require some sort of backrest, even a small one. The Wing has her spoiled. She would ride for hours on our CB750K1 without a backrest but no more. I'm looking forward to seeing this bike in the flesh! Cliff.

mick7504 in Australia sent me this info on a seat he put on his CB1100:

http://japan.webike.net/products/9695724.html#channel=f3c0fede284f4f&origin=http%3A%2F%2Fjapan.webike.net&channel_path=%2Fproducts%2F9695724.html%3Ffb_xd_fragment%23xd_sig%3Df326b9ea7f38e1%26

He said the stock seat failed quickly in the comfort department and this on is a major improvement. I also saw somewhere in my searching that Honda does have a tail trunk with a backrest pad for the bike. I just hope they bring them here. I would rather stay with factory accessories than aftermarket.
