Drop-in headlight replacement for a '78k recommmendations
« on: November 29, 2012, 08:12:49 AM »
Hi all,

My 78k's headlight has a loose part...some sort of a metal insight the lense. The headlight is also what I would consider pretty dim. I think it's just time to replace it.

What would you guys recommend for a good value headlight that would work well with a future modulator that I will install?

7" H4 conversion lamp will drop in, allows you to change bulbs.

I take it the benefits of going with the H4:

1) Cheaper to replace the bulb in the future rather than replace the headlamp
2) Allows for flexibility while trying different bulbs
3) Brighter?

I assume you are refering to Part # 09-0072, which looks to be the only "drop in" H4.

^ yes to all of the above...
BUT, understand there will be an increased power draw.  your electrical system needs to be sorted or you may notice it dims at idle, and increases brightness with higher RPM
