Topic: Slip on exhaust out of shape

Hey y'all, I recently got a pair of 4-2 turnouts off of ebay to put on my 72 cb750k.  Unfortunately, I made a serious error in rigging the tab in the back, and one of them slipped itself off at 70mph.  It got a decent amount of rash, which doesn't really concern me as they were pretty chewed up to begin with, but the end also got flat spotted so now they won't slip-on the headers.  I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to reshape the thing, but I'm coming up empty.

Any thoughts?

Get a tail pipe expander.  If there is a harbor freight nearby that may do the trick.

EDIT: I had no idea these were a thing, looks like they are a standard offering a auto parts stores as well.  You wouldn't believe all of the search terms I've been putting into google trying to figure out if something like this existed.  Thanks again!

Go to your nearest muffler shop, they will stick in the machine and be done in 2 seconds and I doubt they would charge anything.

So 10.99 at Harbor Freight and 5 minutes and I'm good to go    Powderman, I am always hesitant to go to the shop from an anxiety of getting raked over the coals.  I guess I need to find a local bike shop and build a rapport...

Get a piece of pipe lay it on the ground insert pipe rap with BF hammer a couple times should do the trick

You should post this in tips and tricks section.  You may need to wack it vigorously with a hammer then post before and after pictures.  Just Kidding.  Good job.

Johnnyboy ; I've found that a lot times I can take a socket of the correct diameter and drive it in to reround a pipe or tubing. Sometimes you may ned to start with a smaller one and work your way up. It's also helpful if you've got sockets that have a taper from where thay go on your ratchet/breaker bar out to the end where the nut goes,LOL !   ...cougar...
