What is supposed to stop the center stand?
« on: December 02, 2012, 08:58:02 PM »
Upon assembling my bike I've notice that the center stand (with its crazy strong spring) is slamming into my brake rod or if adjusted into the passenger peg attachment point.

I'm just wondering if I'm missing a bracket or stop or something.

If you have an aftermarket exhaust, you probably no longer have the rest for it anymore. This is common with a 4-1 exhaust.

You can get one that comes with a Mac exhaust fairly cheap at cb750supply.com

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

It is the bent one in this image. Just a few bucks for it. It mounts to the left rear foot peg mount.

search center stand stop and a bunch of threads will show up with some good ideas.
I dropped a stop off my left rear passenger mount with a rubber stopper on the bottom.
Just be sure your center stand doesn't ride on your chain.

When I got my 750f 78', I noticed that the center stand was hitting the chain. Not the only one having this problem.

The CB 750 F2 SOHC had a bracket behind the silencer mount, this had a rubber stand stopper on it. The rear foot rest bolt was one of the bolts holding it in place
