Hey ,

I am still in search for the ultimate 4 into 1 exhaust for my 72 CB750.
I have seen lots of different systems out their on peoples bikes. Most I dislike, some I dig.
User STEVEF hAs the exact system I want, but he doesnt know who makes it, and he is out of the country so he cant produce a clear pic fo me to investagate..
I tried and tried but he wouldnt sell it to me... ;D >:( ;D

Basically I am looking for a black 4 into 1, with a "cannon" that is at a slight angle going up towards the back seat. I don't think these "cannons" have anything actually in them(like a muffler) , which doesnt bother me. STEVEF's bike just sounds too BADASS for me not to have this system on my scoot. While we were on that Midnight Ride, I could hear him 50 bikes in front of me, and it was killer...

I guess  I am asking if anyone knows what 4into1 I might be looking for , any advice on which systems are worth the $$ , which fit good , build quality, who is running what on their bike , etc...

As usuall , ALL help is appreciated..... ;D

Hey guys  I have the same 4 into 1 header, same as the picture that was link to on E - Bay, My header is chrome but it does come in black also, I purchased it from MAC. cost about 250.00 For a 1974 550, It also comes with a removable baffle,Sounds great without the Baffle though it can be alittle loud.

hey, I'm looking for the ultimate 4-1 too.

I just recieved MAC TT drag pipes that I ordered over a month ago and I'm horribly disappointed with the quality.  They wiggle at the head when all tightened down.  Besides, there was no info that these things can't be used with the side stand.  My bike's lowered which makes putting it up on the centre stand very difficult.  So back they go... and I'm gonna stay away from anything MAC.

I'm looking at the Jardine 4-1, but I'd really like to see a picture of it installed on a bike.  All I can find for pictures is this one on the Jardine site.  If anyone has this system on their bike could you post some pics?  I'm particularly interested in the detail of the tip of the pipe.  The pic on the Jardine site hints that it looks like a killer old school megaphone.  How does this pipe sound?  and perform?  are the baffles removable?

Same goes for a Kerker, but I think I'd like the look of the Jardine better.

I have a Australian HANCO 4>1 system which I believe is a good one and a note of excellence.
I love the tunnels in the Sydney CBD just to give the cabbies the horrors. Sounds awsome.
The pix above is it.

The chrome on it is Ok but I need a new  set of headers of the same manufacturer.

just a caveat:
if you have or plan to lower the bike and use that four into one the expect to high center it occasionally and drag the pipe on hard rights.
i had the same header and dented the piss out of the collector and nearly ground a hole in the pipe from draggin the flare.

take out that bffle though and it's m-f ker loud.
i went round two city block with mine out once an when i returned home my mates looked at me with the most quizzical of faces;

they hadn't realized i'd left the yard.  :P

IMNSHO Mac's are kinda cheap and flimsy,  KERKER ROCKS!

Whenever I need to justify spending a few extra $$$'s on a parts for my CB's I just remind myself that my entire Honda Collection costs much, much, less than an OCC Hardly. and I get more positive comments than I would on sed hardly.

Thanks for all the positive feedback , and keep it comming.

I really am a fan of how the MAC 4 into 1 sounds, and more importantly looks.
This bike is 70% looks - 30% performance , as I have stated before.
I am pretty sure that the black mac 4 into 1 is what STEVEF has, and pretty sure what PORSCHEGUY has as well. Both of these guys are running no baffle, and their bikes sounds killer..

Anyone have a pic of a kerker on a cb750 that I can see ??
I am all about saving some $$ where I can, but I don't want to buy a pile of crap system just to save a buck.
The 55 needs a new centrifugal supercharger setup, so I gotta start counting my pennies  ;D

the system that porscheguy912 linked to.
deadringer for the system that originally was on my bike when i bought it.
i curbed the damn thing about once a month, dented every one of the down tubes and put a couple of nice flat spots in the collector after about four years.
i also had a couple of hairy slides from cornering that #$%* too low on right handers.
this when i was rocking a stock height front end and inch and a half laybacks on the rear.

the thing was so shredded i just threw it in with a pile of scrap metal about three or four years ago.

but the unbaffled sound: oh HELL YES!
scca guys used to think some crazy ass was driving his race prepped 944 on the street when i was workin' track days at nelson ledges...

I got the exhaust wrap for next to nothing ($10 per roll) so that isn't a big deal.
CROWBOY --->
Clearance is def. an issue when it comes to my CB. I have 11'' short shocks with a 16'' tire on the rear, and the front tubes are about 1 1/2'' pushed thru the top tree on the front. My bike sits nice and low..Not that I hang the corners like some of the members do, but I don't wanna get into a "not being able to ride the thing" situation because of a stupid header being too low..

Is their a 4 into 1 that has a wicked sound, and maintains decent/average ground clearance ?

If you are handy with a welder i have some ideas for ya. when we get together for a ride i'll fill you in. I have a feeling your best bet is to go with the mac and slice the bottom, weld in a flat plate, bend the bottom up abit and then mod your own horn. You saw mine, there really isnt much to it. its about 2" at the bottom and just shy of 4" at the tip. i think the sound your a looking for lays in the horn. I have a feeling the horn on that mac system will sound kinda "rappy" and will pop alot. I do remember that your bike was way low, and when i put those pipes on mine, the first thing i thought of was, "#$%*, i hope they dont drag!" and yours wrap nice and tight under the motor. I forgot if you have 2-1's right now or not, but you could just make some killer pipes out of your set up now. Plus then you can say that you made them your self!

So are you saying that the MAC 4 into 1 will drag in my scoot becase it is so low ? I don't need dragging/rubbing issues to deal with. None of that is needed at all. As far as popping goes, I am actually a big fan of exhaust systems that "pop" on decell. I think it sounds killer, and actually try to make mine do that on purpose. As of now it seems as if the MAC 4 into 1 is my best bet, and kinda see how it goes (clearance wise). I could always do alittle "flattening" of the pipes as they go under the bike before I wrap the headers, to increase clearance...

i think the problem lies around the design of aftermarket over-the-counter systems.
they're built for flow and equidistant runner lengths and the cheap and easy solution to that is to collect the pipes into a square bundle of four pipes just behind the sump.
not the best at stock height and might as well be a 7 inch tree trunk stuck to the bottom of a lowered ride.

i'd think you'd have to collect the head pipes into a flat manifold like the F series bikes or make some real purdy sculpture out of 'em and bring the four individual pipes up the side of the bike and into a collector.

Dont get me wrong, I love the gumple and poping on decel, what i'm getting at is that with the small outlet on end of the horn on the mac, your gonna get more higher frequency noise on Accel. you know how the old VW beetles sounded? like a buzz more than a grumble? look at the size of the outlet tips! I may be wrong, but in my experience, playing trumpet and other horn instuments, working as a sound engineer, and a porsche mechanic, that seems to make sence to me. Clearence is def going to be a issue on your bike if its lowered, beacuse its it was on mine and its no lowered.

Well then I need to look elsewhere for a 4 into 1 that will work on my scoot, and not drag on the ground. I am such a fan of my bike becase I can take it anywhere - ride it anywhere - and not have to worry one bit about it falling apart on me, or any other reliability issues. I dont wanna have to start dodging bumps and potholes becasue of my exhaust.

Maybe I am better off having my Chassis shop/racecar builder buddy make me up a custom 4 into 1.
"Custom" = big $$

I have a kerker on my 750 and my friend has a hooker. His pipes measure 1 1/2" round and my Kerker is 1 5/8" round at the pipe. My pics are to big and need to size them down. I'll post up here tonight if you still looking for a photo.

ProTeal, how are these pics?  First one, of course, is the kerker.  The second one is what I think you're looking for, except in chrome.  Uncapped, they both sound excellent.  The second pipe makes it sound like a bigger engine, but the kerker sounds racier.  Right now, the kerker is behind the garage with spider webs all over it.  Good luck with your search.
