I sure would like to hear some sound clips of different 4-1 setups. It would make decisions a lot easier. Mine sounds ok I guess but I have nothing to compare it to. It might sound killer, or weak as hell. I don't know what brand it is (no name found on it) and I haven't seen any others that look like it. I think the headers might be stock. One thing I do know is that I like the way it's bolted on better than the kerker setup. I'll try to post pics later.

i don't think you'd be able to properly mic some of the unbaffled 4 into 1 setups.
it's the kinda bass that just causes heart palpitations, you don't really hear it.
Oh, ok. Mine doesn't have that deep bass but, it still has the baffles in it. I was looking (and listening) at a couple of Carpy's videos on youtube and his Yoshimura exhaust sounds sweet. Doesn't have the deep bass but it's probably, like you said, that the mic doesn't pick it up. Mine has the basic tone but his has more of a "crunch" to it. Looks like the clearance would be ok too. ProTeal, does yours sit a lot lower than this?

RUSHOID --->
As you can see, my scoot sits pretty low...

I like the way that exhaust on the yellow Carpy bike sounded, and it seemed to tuck up nicely.
Thats a yourshima header you said ? Anyone know if these are readily available ???

   Hey Teal, read the auction and the seller does seem adament that it's for an early K :D. My buddy has an F but that means nothing since these old bikes have had decades to be modified by PO's and he may well have spigots put on. My friend won't be around tonight but says he'll take some pics and email them tomorrow. I'll post'em once I get'em.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

ProTeal, my bike sounds very similar to Carpy's yellow bike when I remove the baffle.  I posted the question before, asking if it was a Yoshi pipe and the responses were mixed.  The person that sold it to me assures me that it is the real thing and he's a very reputable person.  Anyway, it sounds like you're in an echo chamber when it's running.  If I had a quality way of recording it and posting it, I would; maybe I can try it with my laptop and a mic.

Their is no way in friggin hell I am gonna pay $1000 for an exhaust 4 a bike I paied $800 for... :o
It looks like I am gonna attempt to pickup that Ebay exhaust, and modify, or go with the standard black MAC 4 into 1 and see just how bad the ground clearance is...

As I really like the look of this system....

$1000? Holy crap!!!  :o :o :o
PT, I guess I just didn't realize how low it sits. Like the new seat BTW. Are you dead-set on getting a 4-into-1? What about putting different "mufflers" on your existing 4-into-2? You might be happy with that - at least until you can find something that you absolutely love (and can afford). Just a thought.  :-\

I was going to keep the 4 into 2 I have, and just replace the mufflers with some automotive style "bullet" mufflers such as the ones
i posted a pic of above, but I am kinda dead set on the looks ,and more the sound of a 4 into 1. So I think what I am gonna do is order up a new in the box black 4 into 1 from MAC, then install it and see what areas need to be addressed, as far as what needs to be flattened/cut/slimmed down in order to keep the bike rideable (ground clearance wise). I really dig how the mac looks, and with no baffle sound sound killer..  ;D

Do the 4-2
I am still not 100% sure on either keeping what I have and swapping some differenet mufflers, or going the 4 into 1 route. I know I am not doing ANYTHING exhaust wise till winter , so I still have some time to think things out...

Proteal,

Have a look  :)

Anyone know if these will fit a '78 F3? If ProTeal doesn't bid on them, I might.
Knock yourself out buddy. They won't fit on my bike without me changing the exhaust clamp deal-e-o's , which I don't feel like undertaking...

Bid Away !!

You are aware that all you need is in those two auctions except the pinchbolts? Those you´ll find at your local hardware store for a buck or two.

All you need to do is remove the 8 crosshead bolts and replace them with 8 two-inch-long pinchbolts.

It´s done in 30 minutes, man... :)'

I know , I know.
Call me lazy  ;D

I have decided to go with the run-of-the-mill MAC 4 into 1 , that is made for my year CB. (pic below)

Once installed , and I am gonna see just how bad I am gonna have to modify to make work on my lowered bike...I just like the looks of that system , simple, black, etc...Besides dealing with the collector hanging down , I plan to cut off and re-angle the cannon to get a more aggressive look.Once all is done , I plan to headerwrap the whole thing , as my current exhaust is...

I just need to bite the bullet and order the damn thing.... :D

Teal if you hold out until winter we can make it a weekend project and custom bend some exhaust for you in the shop. If we come up with a template we could sell them. You would not have to bring your bike either, just the ground clearance measurement and we can test fit them on mine as I have spigot style exhaust.

Then you can finish it out anyway you like. You can go high temp black, chrome tips and header wrap. This is the way I am doing Home Wrecker. Plus this allows you to use custom baffles so there is no need for mufflers.

Hey proteal where you thinking of getting the mac from? I tried ordering mine from bikebandit, and they were backordered with no ETA... They definately had the best price though.

What was their price they quoted you ?

Click the link below --->

They are saying the system for my scoot is $279.99 , is that a good / fair price ??
I am guessing they have it in stock - or else they wouldn't be putting it up for auction..
