I think I like the 500X more than the 700X as it seems they have integrated the accessories in a more cohesive manner than the 700 where they don't blend in as well.

Could be worse, could be a thumper like a few 500s made not too long ago, Buell Blast.

Might not be a bad bike, even if it is a twin... riding experience will tell.
My CX500 is a twin with a twist and it is still entertaining and puts a smile on your face.

still cand understand vhy nobody build a oldscool cbx...all the best in one bike..i have put a crome frontfender..and try to find a rear from a 750 and a seat,,and sidecovers. and rear light. it vill look and saund like heaven...with 6 ...750 exhosts..think i start this weekend

are the new 1100 engine, in most a cbx 750 engine just vith injeksion and bigger ccm..cbx series vas the last aircooled big engine in many years

I just read a review (by Alan Cathcart) in "Motorcycle Classics." He liked the bike, BUT did comment on the foot pegs. "The CB1100 handles quite well for a retro model, enough to get the tabs on the relatively high-mounted and quite rearset footrests graunching away very easily..." That Cathcart considers the foot pegs to be quite rearset, is significant. Will other old guys (like me) pass on the CB1100 due to the conflict between its peg placement and our aged joints?

And I cannot have a 25-year-old girlfriend, either.

I think they forgot which wheel that rearstand is supposed to lift off of the ground.

Not really. The center-stand was positioned so that either wheel could be removed without an additional support. If the rear wheel was removed, the front tire would contact the ground. Those were amazingly well thought-out bikes.

Yep, pretty nice when you have to fix a flat on the front out in the middle of nowhere. Unlike most Japanese bikes that need the front supported when the front wheel comes off.

I was in the Honda Dealer picking up some parts. One had been delivered that day. The owner is friendly depending on what day you catch him. It was a good day and he let me sit on it. Being only 5' 8" it was a good height for me. He was not sure the 10K price would work very well, so he will buy them one at a time. It was a very nice looking bike in person. Looked like the old CBs the way the reissued Ford Thunderbird sort of looked like the original.

Got lucky today. At Honda in Warrenton there is one on display. Looking good.

Of course they asked me what is it I am riding, never seen SOHC I guess

black engines are a 1980" thing..even traktors got black on..real engines are silver...the black 750 engines and cbx prolink..uhhh so sad..

I like the black engine too. It looked good on my '82 900F, but you have to keep them clean to keep them that way, or they get ugly.

I agree. Throw on the '77-78 K style seat from the earlier posts and you have a fantastic vintage look with a totally modern drivetrain and brakes.

I was OK with the cast wheels on the first version but didn't like the 4 into 1, this is way better with the 4 into two. The headers look chromed too, no stainless, or is it my eyes?

Still needs at least a 5 gallon gas tank, or better yet, 5.8 like the 750/900/1100Fs had.
