throttle return spring
« on: July 11, 2006, 12:44:41 PM »
I disassembled the carbs on my 72 cb350f and can't find for the life of me where the bottom of the throttle return spring attaches to. I know that the top is attached near where the cables meet the carbs but can't find a place to attach the bottom of the spring. Help! Does anyone have a picture of where the spring connects. I looked in the manual and couldn't get any help. Any responses are appreciated. Thanks, Sean

Not sure about the 350 but on the 550 there is a small round peg that sits between the #3 and #4 carbs near where the gas lines go in.  The spring attaches to the center of that peg.  If you had the carb rack disassembled it would be easy to lose that small piece.

And of course to replace it, you have to remove the rack and at least loosen and wiggle all the carbs to get that little barrel-shaped grooved rod back in...   ;D

I think that's it right below #17, but it has no number...

...Stock 1972 CL450 'Scrambler' also being re-assembled...
