Anyone purchase anything from Slingshot Cycles lately?
« on: December 05, 2012, 11:39:01 AM »
I decided to purchase a new set of SS braided brake lines, caliper line and master cyclinder from vendor advertising here at SOHC - Slingshot Cycles.  I paid for the parts via PayPal when I placed the order and have not been able to get any confirmation they have the parts, or when they are shipping.  It's only been a week, but my email request have gone unanswered.  I have purchased most everything I have used for this 550 build through guys here at SOHC and have recieved prompt shipment and communication every time; except this time.  I'd be interested to know if anyone else has bought equipment from the site.  I can always inform PayPal and have the payment returned, but I'd rather have the parts.  Any thoughts on how best to get through to Slingshot Cycles?

I have bought several hoses from Slingshot in the past. When there has been confusion Shaun has gone above and beyond to make sure I got what I wanted.

I just placed an order for another SS brake line over the weekend. I spoke with Shaun, the owner, via email last week. He responded in a timely matter.

You have to remember how difficult it is to actually run a decent online store if you're an engineer, not a website developer. I would be patient and give it another week. These bike guys aren't Amazon!

No worries.  I definently don't mean to bash the guy or company.  I am simply interested in others experiences to help me to determine when best to cut and find an alternative source.

I just bought a set of SS lines. Sent him an email first asking if he could have one of the lines a little longer and he got right back to me. Put my order in with a comment about our communication on longer line. Took a couple of weeks but he sent me notification and tracking info. Had great service and communication.

I've ordered before and had great service.
Emailed Shaun about additional custom lines.  took him a week or so to reply, but he did respond.
I would not hesitate to send more business his way.

keep in mind you are getting a custom part, perfect for your bike that is of great quality, from a long-time member in good standing.
email him again, and give him another day or 2 to respond.

Yeah, I'd just echo what's been said above.  The product is great and communication with Shaun was excellent.  Cut him a little slack and you'll walk away happy.

Hi CapeCafe.  Not sure what your order number or name is but I have been a tad behind on orders.
I do have some good news though.  Today on my lunch break, I am shipping orders 1074 - 1082 so if you are in that range you should be receiving your package in a couple of days.
Sorry about any delay though.
I appreciate all you guys saying good stuff!  Especially Rick!  I had some serious brain farts with his first order and after we got them taken care of he comes back to me for another order.  Such a relief that he let me make it right and didn't run over to the Spiegler dealer instead!

No worries.  I'm glad to hear you are so busy and building a successful business.  You do have a lot of very happy customers here at SOHC.  I'm order #1175, so when you have an idea of when you are going to be able to ship, please let me know.  Happy Holidays!
