Have a good flight. Hope you're not going via Dubai, its an @rsehole of an airport. Last month it took took us over 2 hours just to get through immigration, even as transit passengers. Not to mention the time it takes getting to and from the aircraft, by bus! Not to mention the hoards of people sitting on the floor of the airport because there's not enough seating. Not to mention the crap toilets. Not to mention the lack of food outlets. Sorry, did I just spoil your flight?

Here's why:

Nah mate, we went via Abu Dhabi.  Nice enough airport but the disorganisation was ridiculous.  We got delayed there for a couple of hours but they didn't tell us we were going to be delayed till after we were supposed to be in the air.  All in all it was a good flight, albeit a little cramped for me.  My first impressions of England is it is a beautiful place but bloody cold.   I have never had to wear gloves before in the daytime to keep my hands warm.

Did you take your wet weather gear Andrew? I hear it's a bit soggy over there at the moment.

That's more down south, but we have been copping relentless drizzle.  We were meant to be heading to Cornwall today but we have had to change our plans because of the weather.  We are now heading down that way tomorrow and hopefully bypassing the flooded areas.

We made it back home yesterday at 2am.  It was a great trip, but the jetlag is a b!tch.  The only real complaint was with the flight home.  We booked with V-Australia, and got put on an Etihad flight.  During the longest leg of the flight, from Abu Dhabi to Sydney, there was an 8hr period where there was no service.  If you wanted a drink you had to call the flight attendant, the entire flight the toilets weren't cleaned, even after I complained to the flight attendant.  There was p!$$ on the floors of the toilets, no toilet paper and the sink in one was stopped up.  I will never use V-Australia again for international flights.  In comparison I have never had an issue with their domestic services.
