CB650 frame size 1979 closer to 550 or 750 ?
looking for after market bits and realy need to know what frame size is the closest ?

Gday Warren, i don't know for sure but considering a 650 engine will bolt straight into a 500-550 i would say its closer to them, the 750 frame is completely different....

Look up member Dave500, he's down your way, mudgeeraba and is pretty knowledgeable with the 500-550's   ;)

 Definitely the 500/550 fames. I have both in my garage. The 750 frame is quite a bit different.

gday warren,the 650 motor has been slipped into the 500/550 frames.

Original 650 was a mildly bored and stroked 550 (which was really just a bored out 500f )
Various things got upgraded every time engine was made bigger but bore spacing and bearing spacing stayed the same (which is why you can fit 650 crank into 550 cases, or 500f, but 500 transmission may not be up to added power?)
