Oh, I think it would be interesting. Up to it? Well seeing that I seem to have my own personal junkyard there is a slight (very slight) unfair advantage. But I am sure this would make great TV. Besides, I love to do a hardcore ride with a Bloke like Carpy. Seeing that all the chop this and chop that end up in some level of chopperdom show, I guess we would have to do the ending ride to some Ton Up show somewhere. Maybe the one in Chicago.... I am sure Teal would make me bribe him for his vote. ;) ;D

I guess we would stay vintage because it is only right. I think I would build a very very nasty 500/550...

I'd say it'd make great television- between following around Carpy and listening to his humorous sayings and ElCheapo going around busting up crotch rocket riders in his spare time.... hell, I'd watch it!  ;D

In process, Just hard to get the damn time as this biz is killing me. The 500 is a long ways - but not a long ways

Maybe I could get the pipe wrench out and break something  ;D And then harass the rocket riders.

I was talking to my uncle (My Pseudo Dad) he keeps feeding my head ideas and says as far as resources go for the build, you just call in the favors. I could get the paint done, powder coat, and any frame mods done with favors..

Hello Gang
Man! Where does time go?
I have been so busy as of late and not had time for 3 of the forums I have been checking for a few years now.

I have been offered a couple of Biker build off's already, but right now I am swamped with work and aint got time to even piss, may wear a diaper to sort that problem out.

Anyway, I think the concept would be a giggle to be honest and I have a TV thing to do next week with my cafe.

I have been fortunate to be in Cycle World and now the cover of Motorcycle classics.
OUT NOW

And I am behind with builds right now.
The Build off will be fun but there is no way I can do it right now, plus it's a PR paid job and no loot and I cant work for bugger all, even though I love what I do, it aint gonna pay the rent.

I have a few things planned right now and I have to tour Japan next year with my Black cafe, then back to the UK and Hit the Isel of man.

I may try and get to Bonneville this month if I can get out of the garage.

This is my life and my hobby, alot of people fail to see this and think I can just stop and go here and there.
But you lot know if you work for yourself how hard it is to commit to anything else, when Customers bikes must come first.

I have some models coming over when I finish another bike, so hope they aint skanky?

I have Just completed my latest, and it came out really well I think.

But I work in a 2 car garage at home, using a few spanners and stuff, not some pro shop as everyone seems to think.

I was a Motorcycle courier in LONDON for 20 years and had to make my bikes as aggresive as possible to get in and out of the chaos London traffic throws at ya.
I am not some MMI student or Factory trained mechanic.
As i think people tend to think I am sometimes.

Wish I had the oppertunity but right now, this is my life and its a right giggle.

But I do my best, Not sure I can totally finish the quality of a build in 30 days though, that's probably alot of B/S when they build that bike, plus, they buy NEW engines, how nice would that be guys?

Although i think it would be a fun venture, let me see what I can do this end as I have a few pokers in the fire here in the film industry area of the USA.

I have made so many friends on here and other forums, who are just into bikes, it is so cool, you lot are great and I thank you for even thinking of me that is capable of a build off.

Peace and grease guys.
I try and check the site once or twice a week when I can.

Carpy

It might make a divided room, but I could get guys from my area to assit in the build off... and Carpy could do the same. Carpy told me he has declined a few offers to do a build off. Who knows what the future brings. I can relate to the crazy schedule that he runs. THERE IS JUST NOT ENOUGH TIME IN THE DAY.

Thanks Carpy for stoppin in..... Who knows what the future could bring. Mine too is a humble begining as I just got lucky on the cost of the shop. I only look bigger....I can relate on the time frame as I am doing 100hr work weeks just to keep up.

I gotta work like the devil to catch up and, i have hopefuly a Meguires TV ad to do but I have to repaint my tank, as the 100 degree heat hear has made  a blsiter on my tank.
So today, on my knee's and on the driveway i am block sanding a gas tank for a few hours.

But it's gotta be done as i love it if I got the bike on the tv.

I have a film company maybe interested in a Documentary on me, but this is all up in the air, they could film it all and then the channels may not want it.

We shall see.
I'd love to have a couple of mates help but there all busy building their Hot rods and Customs.
I shall also be doing some stuff with Chica at his shop if I can get One day away from my garage.

That guy has huge amounts of work and offered me a job there.

Bike buildoff with cafes would be the bee's knees!!  Carpy should just hire some of that cheap, illegal labor that's so prominent in CA to finish his customer's bikes during the buildoff.  I'm sure Dirnt wouldn't mind.. hahahah!!  but seriously folks, it would be killer to do something like that soon b/c it's going to happen sooner than later so it would be great to be FIRST!!  (but that's just me)  it should be more like "Garage Bike Buildoff" b/c we're not dealing with $150,000 motorcycles with full shop facilities and our own line of tools, etc etc.

great idea+nice to meet you all!!

wait until i get all the parts i need for my bike, or we may just be talking about 150,000 dollar bikes here.  I would rather we hosted our own build-off rather than letting those monkey strokers at the discovery channel (i worked there i know) exploit our labor of love and blow the roof of of our parts prices- sure you'd have a goldmine cheapo, but at what cost?
I would offer to shoot and edit the build off for free- plus room and board cuz im sure it wont be in baltimore.  Is there someone who can host it on a website with streaming video capability?
just thoughts
