CB 500 FOUR POLICE
« on: July 29, 2005, 11:32:06 PM »
Hi,

I am interested in the police version of the CB500 Four.

I know they used the in Geneva, Switzerland and Dublin Ireland.

Does anyone has more information on these bikes, if so it would be nice to post it in this topic!

I would love to have the original brochure some day but it is very hard to find!

Check the old forum for any post posted by a greek guy called Evangelios Nitzios. He had a restored police CB750 in pristine condition. From his posts you can get his e-mail address.

I'm sure that one of our current members has a CB500P (in white) - can't remember his name though...

Hi both of you with the "P" bikes. I know one of you mailed me with some questions but just for my own interest have either of you got Vin (frame) numbers for bikes that were DEFINATELY police models so i can see where they "Fit" (or dont fit) among the frame numbers i have on file. Thanks
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

If you have larger images of the two photos you posted, I'd love to get them up on the website.  For that matter, any detailed information about the Police bikes would be much appreciated.  I have some photos up on the website - mostly these came from a Japanese site that I found once.

I'm re-working the website at the moment to get all the content I've accumulated the past couple of years online.

By fairing do you mean the honda windshield that says police on it?  cuz i would gladly rock that on long highspeed trips.

For some reason the board software shrinks hotlinked images.  If you right click and copy/paste the address into your web browser, they are quite large and look good.

I'm not sure - it's been a while since I really looked at it - but if you're serious I will ask him about it - keep in mind I don't even know if he wants to get rid of it...

I am serious, but not like a heart attack.  I am forever on the lookout for an easily detachable windshield that doesnt look cheap and wonky.  This one in the above picture seems like it fits the bill.  (wish it said police backwards though) If the one yer friend's got is one and the same I would be interested in how much dough he'd need to separate with it.  thanks for your help

What he has is the whole fairing - i'm not sure you'd want to buy that only to remove the shield - i wonder if you can mount the shield without the fairing... i don't know.

i'll try to find out for you, though...

it seems like later on they switched to a more involved windshield fairing look.  The pic above with the windshield on the bike as well as leaning agins t the front wheel (?) it seems like the windshield is attached to the handlebars a la most modern aftermarket stuff.  that would be sweet, but if this is what he has, no need to ask:
