Thinking of buying this .........Need to get the lining in my headlight renewed to get through M.O.T test. Anyone ever brought one? Looks a bit cheapo to me! Wiring looks a bit dodgy!       http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB400F-SUPER-SPORT-FOUR/part_195091/

I've had no experience with that particular part, but my experience with DSS has been very good. I would not use "dodgy" or "cheapo" to describe anything that I have received from them.

As somebody who lives in the US I  have to ask: what is that "little" bulb inside the headlight?  Is it a running light or parking light?  What controls it?  Can it be adapted to US models?

P.S. I'm new at this.  :o

It's a parking light. It's connected to the taillight circuit, comes on with lights on or in "park". It must have been required in some markets. It is rather dim but definitely visible at night.

I have heard it referred to as an "Italian parking light"

Also, from those pictures I can't see anything that looks dodgy about the wiring.  The parking light wires even have the stock-type male connectors.
