Countershaft/drive sprocket seal question-which one?
« on: December 11, 2012, 07:38:13 PM »
I have an engine seal kit that says it fits 1969-76 K1-K6 &F1 ('76) model motors.  My motor is a 1975 FO motor. From what I've found, both use a 25x62x7mm seal, at the drive sprocket countershaft.  Anyone know if this would be a problem to use, or are there differences I'm not aware of?

Check with RXmanGriff: he just rebuilt his '75 F0. That was a transition year, so some of them had the K6 seal, and some had the F1 seal. The two are different sizes, with the shaft being bigger on the later one.

Many places do not consider that there is/was a 1975 CB750K0 Super Sport aka the original 75 F. They skip it and start with the 76 F1 which IS the same. This seal did NOT change until the 77 K and F when they switched over to the 630 chain.

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Thanks, that's what I needed. That is the seal part number I have.
