if its been a long time not running and it has two carbs dodgy id pull the whole rack and clean them all out,pay extra attention to the slow speed and discharge ports, get all the brass out and clean the bodies three times, nothing worse than pulling the carbs over and again.

Looks like a good starting point.  Looks to be in similar condition to mine when I got it.
This is it when I got it

This is it after a couple of years and too many $$$$$ poured into it

I'm about 4 hrs North of there, just outside of Maryborough.  Thanks mate there are a lot of hours in it to make it that shiny.  I don't know what the go is with the seat, it looks like nothing else I have seen on one of these bikes, but to look at how it's made it looks original.

Gday Blue, thats not an original seat mate, Wolfsbane's seat is what it would have looked like new... ;)

Yeah I know that Retro ;).  It just looks like it could be original by the way it is made.  All the seams are welded, not stitched.  The chrome strips on the side are a part of the cover, and there is fake stitching across the main cover.  Whoever made it did a proper job.

The 650's really don't like pods.  It would be easier to find the bits you need than try and make it work with pods, you will get better power too with the stock airbox.

Ok, just hold onto what you have of the airbox, it will save you trying to find replacements for when you can't get it to run right on pods.  Trust me on this one, this topic has been beaten to death on this forum.  Did I mention that the 650's really don't like pods?

mate of mine owns angry s motorcycle works up in Brisbane his suggestion was for the carbies with pods
Quote (yeah mate, you will nedd to go bigger main jet, lift slide needles and probably go bigger in pilot jet. also will need mixture screw adjust.)

The problem with pods is that, for 1, they don't have velocity stacks and 2, the air is highly disturbed compared to the stock airbox, its well documented on the forum. The entire SOHC intake was designed to work as one, there will ALWAYS be a compromise with pods like poor idle, flat spots or crap low rev response.r running rich at idle and lean somewhere else in the rev range. Unfortunately, there is no way to get pods perfect on a SOHC/4. Pods are more for looks that for practical function. There is n ever growing number of guys here that, at first were dead set on using pods and after trying for months to get them running right simply go back tom the airbox and tune it easily..... Listen to the guys that really know, this place has the best Honda specialists in the world bar none... ;)
Pods do work on other carbs like Mikuni's, but they are completely different and have different induction systems to our bikes, for instance, the GS Suzuki's have tubes rather than proper shaped stacks and pods work fine on them...

will have to do a rethink i think as after u just said that  i realised why the gt is suffering with the pods on luckily the guy gave me the original air box as well

Use the google search function on the top left of the page under your forum name and have a read, there's tons of info on this subject. Some guys get them to run ok but after riding around 35-40 different 750/4's and owning 23 myself i know when these bikes are running well, actually i am that convinced of the effects of the airbox i am going to try modify one to go on my 1000cc cb750 with fuel injection..... That should be interesting.... ;D

Yeah, i would fix that, have had luck with a small tipped soldering iron and plastic welding the back as well as glue {epoxy}.
