mate of mine owns angry s motorcycle works up in Brisbane his suggestion was for the carbies with pods
Quote (yeah mate, you will nedd to go bigger main jet, lift slide needles and probably go bigger in pilot jet. also will need mixture screw adjust.)
The problem with pods is that, for 1, they don't have velocity stacks and 2, the air is highly disturbed compared to the stock airbox, its well documented on the forum. The entire SOHC intake was designed to work as one, there will ALWAYS be a compromise with pods like poor idle, flat spots or crap low rev response.r running rich at idle and lean somewhere else in the rev range. Unfortunately, there is no way to get pods perfect on a SOHC/4. Pods are more for looks that for practical function. There is n ever growing number of guys here that, at first were dead set on using pods and after trying for months to get them running right simply go back tom the airbox and tune it easily..... Listen to the guys that really know, this place has the best Honda specialists in the world bar none...
Pods do work on other carbs like Mikuni's, but they are completely different and have different induction systems to our bikes, for instance, the GS Suzuki's have tubes rather than proper shaped stacks and pods work fine on them...
