starter plug?
« on: May 14, 2005, 04:30:06 PM »
ok,
so being the cheep scate that i am, instead of spending the what 30bucks for a starter plug i just sawed off the end of the useless starter i had, no the smart thing would have been to have left the mounting plate attached... did i do that oh no, so instead i jb welded a bolt into the hole. 24hrs later now very happy with my self and my saving a few bucks, i stuck the plug in the old starter hole, it went right in, well maybe a bit too far... it recessed its self about 2mm in the hole. went o pull it out and apparently i didnt bury the bolt far enough and it pulled right out... with out the plug...
so... the plug seems to be where it wants to be wont really go foward and wont come out.. .pull a little and it sucks its self right back in place. what do you guys think, is it ok, or will it work its self in or out?

lmao... ok, i shouhd have said... i took the starter off my bike, not the little button, but the silver round thing that bolts to the engine and makes or not the bike turn over,. ok so i took that out, not going back in, and pluged the hole, make more sense now?

AH yeah... you are going to need to seal that, there is oil splashing around in there... and you dont want it to fall in either, the starter clutch gear isnt far from that hole, if something falls in there... i shudder to think....peace
