Hello all! I just thought I would pop my head in and introduce myself real quick. The name is Matt and I'm from just north of Indianapolis, IN in one of the many small towns outside that area. I'm not really new to motorcycles by any means as I've rode since I was big enough to be on a bike.
I'm coming to you guys mostly from newer supersport and superbike motorcycles, but have slowly progressed to those from my roots of two stroke race bikes (a few NSRs and a couple of TZs). I've always liked the looks and simplicity of vintage motorcycles, but never felt the need to really own one. I helped a good friend of mine build a CB350 that we showed and sold down at Barber this year. I had a blast down there and decided I would start myself an older project bike to go along with my current road going superbike. This led to me picking up a 1971 CB750 that was a barn find though hasn't ran since the early 90's.
The CB came home with me last night and has already been stripped down to just motor/frame. I'm going to remove the motor at some point today so I can start prepping the frame for modification and powder coating. This will be a somewhat lengthy build for me just because I'm also still fiddling around with my other bike, have a project car, and a house that I'm working on when I feel like it. The good news is that here in Indiana we're just moving into winter! I have all the time in the world..(or 4 months or so..) to get this bike going. I would really like to have it running/moving under it's own power by Barber next year, but will just take my ZX with me if I have to..(pity me.. I'd have to take my near as what matters 200hp motorcycle..
