If the blue 75k 750 look is what rocks your boat, then you have the almost perfect bike to start with. Running, cheap, streetable now. Sure beats taking a more expensive stocker and spending good money to have a different look. Here you have to spend some money regardless of what direction you go but it will end up with less invested. Keep her and have your way with her. Make it your own.
And a couple observations, to my untrained eye, I think your rear wheel appears to be a stock 77/78k 17 inch steel chromed wheel. The giveaway is the raised center where the spokes are mounted. And your idle speed sounds low. Try advancing the idle to 1000 or 1100 rpm and that chain rattle should go away.
