New guy in PA
« on: December 18, 2012, 08:15:36 AM »
Hello all!

I'm currently at the beginning of what will probably be a long project... getting a CB550F running, with some little tweaks here and there. My first bike is a 1980 Honda CM200T, which is a fun little bike but I want to be able to travel farther than just outside of town... Craigslist helped me find my new project, and now we'll see where that takes me. The bike is mostly a 1977 CB550F, with a frame and some misc parts from a 1974 CB550K. It sat outside uncovered for several years, so it looks like a more or less complete overhaul is in order, if only for my peace of mind. I haven't found any major rust (and hopefully won't), but there is a ton of spotting on everything.
So it begins...

Looking forward to getting to know all you guys out there!

I'll definitely take some pics of my work and start a project thread. I'm still tearing down, so there's not a whole lot to look at yet.
Larry, I'm in the Chambersburg area, although I'm still in college so half the year I'm in Northern Virginia.
