The fastest N/A SOHC 750 that I am aware of, although with an extended swingarm, is Gary Pena. He ran high 8's.
I think Bill has the exact info on Gary's records. Hopefully he will chime in here with an update.

I like the last part- "At this time". Sounds like someone has something up their sleeve. Hahahaha. You got the package sir- lets see the numbers. I feel a new Super Eliminator record coming from the Benton Racing camp.

Not sure if I'll be shooting for 10.20's at the last race. I plan to find a sweet spot for the bike so its consistent. I need to make some rounds if I want to finish in the top ten since my goal of a top 5 finish has slipped away this season. I'll try to lower the record in 2017 instead. Its your turn Bill. I left you with a soft ET to lower- shouldn't be an issue for you.

You sir are too kind! But, I understand. I would love to see you finish in the Top 5! And it's about consistency and good R/T! You can do both. I'll do my best to lower it as much as I can, if a can! Stay tuned. Yes I have Gary's purpose built in the mid eighties SOHC CB750K engine! 1162cc, 1062 with 1/4 " $troker! But I'm racing the one I built...with lots of help and advice!

My head is spinning...lol

Lets narrow it down. N/A no wheelie bar -  ET and trap is available.

We wanna give ours a run and would like to get an idea on past efforts. This is not a drag racing bike but launches hard.

Pretty sure to narrow it down:
The quickest bike is this category is Frank's with a 10.345 ET.
The fastest bike in this category is Bill's at 124.73 MPH.
Both of these bikes are N/A, stock frames with extended swing arms, no bars and under 1100cc's.

Both of these guys have new iron in the works that will undoubtedly exceed their current numbers.  ;)

Just opened up a Man Cup email about the 'schedule'. WTF is this?! What am I missing? Gates open Wed. Racing starts Thursday. Is there only one race day as we know it for Street ET vs Sat and Sun?

Agreed Bill. That race that starts on Wednesday is not the regular Cup race.

FYI,

I'll gladly accept sponsorship via a set of your SOHC rods to lower my ET even more. I'm not ashamed to ask :-).

FRANK: How much do those rods cost ?? Watched a fellow drag racer at our last 1/8 mile race blow up his KZ LTD motor at the 660' mark with a broken rod that exploded that roller bearing motor with him sliding thru oil and motor parts on a bar bike 1/4 mile [9.20] et. bike cut the motor in half..... he did not go down, luck for this young man who has raced that bike for years. Closed track down for 2 hours clean up !!!!!

Pops,
I think it was less than $600 shipped to the US for those rods. Believe me, I'm thinking more and more about putting a set in my motor. Those RC h/d steel rods have been run for a long time so its inevitable that failure is going to happen one day. I've got to replace the worn crank anyhow so that would be the perfect time to get the completely new rotating assembly balanced. I'm working on a junk pile engine now as a backup til I can update my original engine one day.

Glad your guy survived that catastrophe unscathed. I've witnessed quite a few roller motors tear up cranks and cases and its never a pretty sight. I guess it'll be next season before we see you again. Take care.
