With the exception of pulling the rear tire off for final balancing I now have a restored rolling frame.

Bought the bike in well worn condition near Erie Pa back in August with the intention of going through it from top to bottom and ending up with a cafe. That's still the plan but I think I'm going to use something like a Daytona bar instead of cafe bars. Reason being I want to put some miles on it when done and the cafe bars look very uncomfortable. Pictures will have to wait. The weather in southern WV is rain snow, rain snow, rain snow with no end in sight.

Frame was stripped and painted gold. Front and rear wheels, the brake pedal and kick starter were re-chromed. New Dunlop K70's front and back. New wheel bearings. New tapered tripple tree bearings. New swing arm bearings done by Hondaman in Colorado. New spokes front and back. New progressive springs. New rear shocks. Everything else cleaned and polished plus a lot of new fasteners from Ron Ayers.

Finally got some photos. Original condition. Most of the parts are present but the bike has been neglected and a little abused.




The rear fender is junk and the front fender has a few dents. At some point someone has treated the bike rougher than it deserved.






Removing the engine is a piece of cake with overhead lift and engine lift jig.




Frame gets good cleaning and is painted with Hammerite aerosol.



Starting to look like a bike again. Disc rotor got drilled during process. Everything down to the smallest bolt and nut is being examined and repaired, serviced or replaced as necessary.
