Has anyone tried these bronze swing arm bushings from Vintage Cb750?

The ad says "replace your plastic bushings....". I put bushings in my K0 back in the 70's and I could swear the ones I took out and the ones I put in were bronze, not plastic.

I replaced my plastic bushes in my 75 CB750F but have NOT put any miles on it yet. I easily pushed out my new plastic bushes from my NOS swingarm and easily snugly inserted the bronze ones. Key wording here is 'NOS' vs old, used swingarm. The package is labeled Parts Plus and has the same item number. They looked fine to me and even have a swirled grease channel in them. That picture does not show the channel. I can NOT tell you for sure where I got mine but don't remember paying that much. Probably 2 to 3 years ago though. Older swing arms used different bushes I believe. Hondaman is our resident swingarm expert.

They went thru a progression of materials. Later were phenolic I think which seems plastic. Later than that they were steel.

"Plastic" is used as a generic term for non-metal.

I've used them on my 75 750F (which I believe is a little different than your K2)... and they're OK.  I got mine from Partsnmore, but I believe they are made by the same company.  Here's a link to some comments I made on them in the past (when someone asked a similar question):

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=99547.msg1110652#msg1110652

And here's the link to the replacement I did on my bike:
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=92402.msg1031013#msg1031013

However, one thing I noticed when I put the swingarm back together was it seemed to take more effort to move the swingarm up and down than before I took it apart.  I didn't realize it at the time, but I later saw a post by Hondaman that explained the problem.  The flange thickness of the replacement bushings are a little thicker than they should be, causing the bushing to contact/pinch to the covers instead of the collar.  The 750F bushings have a flange (so I'm not sure if this is an issue with the early K replacement bushings)... but if you use them, make sure the collar protrudes past the bushing.  The collar should be the part that is "pinched" between the frame/swingarm caps.. not the bushing.

Hope this helps you.

Good catch KickStart. When I finally realized how the swingarm actually worked it was a real "aha" moment.

I used those bushings on my 76F. I'm approaching 11k miles on them. No complaints at all. S-arm gets greased at every oil change. Still nice and tight.

But i did see you can get bushings off ebay for $20 or $22 a pair. Good price.
The darn fool didn't know it couldn't be done...so he went ahead and did it anyway.
