whatta ya think ,i have a slight interference problem with the new tank i want to get. the petcock will bi directly over my carbs and would probably hit at 1/2 throttle so i am thinking about running a 90degree npt elbow and then a nipple and then come off that with another 90 then pet,sounds ugly ha?,would brass be okay to use with gas

Brass is fine. It would really take a lot of fittings to restrict flow to the point where you'd have problems with it. Do what ya gotta do man!
The darn fool didn't know it couldn't be done...so he went ahead and did it anyway.
