1974 CB750 restoration
« on: February 05, 2013, 12:52:34 PM »
I bought a 1974 CB750 towards the end of last fall.  Everything from a function standoint was working on it, it could use some cosmetic fixes from being 39 years old.  The gaskets on the motor were leaking so I pulled the motor to replace those, replaced the rings as well, painted the motor etc.  This all kicked off "Why don't I just restore the entire bike" moment, so off I went.

I'm posting here to kind of document everything, I'm sure I'll also need some help when I run into things that I'm not sure of.

To start with putting everything back together, is there anything to be aware of as far as order of re-assembly??  I've worked on other bikes before and i always find that i'll put "Part A" on the bike only to find out that "Part B" had to go on first before "Part A" because something is now in the way.

I'm trying to refinish everything on the bike and use all of the original parts where I can, otherwise buying NOS parts to replace items that are too far gone.
