I'm not sure of the correct routing from the battery box to the back of the bike. I think I have the routing the same as my reference photos going from the box forward to the switch area. I am away from home for a few weeks and I don't have access to my reference photos on the wiring. Hopefully, I documented it well enough to figure it out.

There is a heavier green wire with a washer type end on it near the battery box. Can someone tell me where this connects?

Ed, I believe that is the main frame ground. There is a tab on your frame on the electronic side of the bike near the battery box up near the top that it screws into. Make sure all paint etc is cleared from that tab. Bare metal there

Does each kit only do one wheel or 2 ?

You have a choice of one or both wheels in the tubeless kit.

I know the prices are not inexpensive. I can purchase his exhaust systems at a good margin, but the tubeless kits not so much, which leads me to believe that raw material prices are expensive for him as well.

I don't know the forum rules, but I hesitate to promote anything in this thread.

one last short update before I get home from work in a couple of weeks. As you may recall, I had soaked some of my chrome pieces in vinegar for a few days. i ended up lightly cleaning the undersides of the fenders with a brass brush and the top side with 0000 steel wool for a final cleanup. the parts came out pretty nice.......considering what I started with.

here is the front fender, it came out nicer than the rear.

And now I have a half of a roller......sure wish I had a new DID rim for the rear so I would have a whole roller.

Well, that is going to be it for a while

I am very curious about the Tubeless kit. I will get WM3 and WM5 shouldered rims soon so I am wondering if your friend has kits matching these rims?

Well, I had really hoped to just clean up and paint my engine and then run it for this summer and see how it goes. Alas, I really should tear it down and do it right, considering what I just found yesterday.

I bought the cheap Harbor Freight engine stand a while back. I finally got aound to fabricating some stand off mounts for the CB750 engine so that I would have easy access for cleaning and painting.

The engine needed a really good cleaning for starters.

Well, I knew there was a reasonable chance that I would find this problem as the sprocket cover had a hole in it from chain slap. I cleaned off the grease and found this fiberglass patch on the case. Sigh. I had hoped that I would escape this problem. So, I guess I will need to tear the engine down and do a complete rebuild as well as get a patch welded in the case.

So.......more time and more money. Both of which are at a premium these days. I had hoped to get this thing on the road by the end of June. Who knows how long it will be now.

On a lighter note........ I saw this seat pan and foam for sale on Fleabay. I noticed that it was located 20 miles from me so I messaged the seller to see if I could pick it up and not pay the $25 dollar shipping. He had a buy it now of $80 so I snagged it. It is in very nice condition. The chrome trim pieces are perfect and the pan is nearly perfect. According to him, The seat cover was damaged by a shipper when he had the bike shipped. Apparently, It was a NOS seat on a fairly recent restoration. He had taken the seat to be re upholstered and then ended up just buying a new seat. I will get a nice seat cover from ebay and have a really nice seat for about $150.

It still has the factory stamps on it

Yup. Did you repair yours?

It is a future project, I doubt I will fix it as 750 motors are readily available and pretty cheap(I happen to have 2 and a half motors somewhere in my mess of stuff)...Larry

p.s. My area is smaller than yours, if I were to get it fixed, there is an Amish aluminum fabricator around here that would fix it for a reasonable fee.

I will have to see what I am going to do. It looks like the upper case is OK but the lower case is not.

After judicious use of the Mapp torch, (i.e. lets start the motor on fire) it appears that the damage is just to the lower case. Now, to find a good lower case for a good price. Or repair mine? There is a local guy that has several spare engines of varying years. Are the lower cases the same through the years?

That is #$%*ty. It seems te earlier cases are becoming harder to find. I have the k1 with the crank in the points cover area and when I found it my heart dropped. I was bummed like no other.

why not repatch it, then jb weld it. if it doesnt leak it doesnt leak? thats how mine was and it doesnt leak. so I just added more jb weld over the whole area for safe measure.

That was my original thought as well. When I went to sleep last night I just thought I would just run it as is. But, when I woke up this morning I knew it would bother me to no end so a rebuild it is. The engine has 37000 miles on it anyway so this is the excuse I need to tear into it. I've never rebuilt a Honda engine before, just British bikes, so this will be a new experience for me. Hmmm.....maybe a 836 kit is in order.

I hear ya. And I have to say, for you never having done a project even romotely like you are doing now, you are doing an outstanding job. Kudos to you Chef!

I spent most of this week finalizing some changes to my never ending Triumph project. At least I have it and my CB400F to ride this summer!!!!

I know this isn't a SOHC, but it is fun as heck!!
