CMSNL seems to be getting slow shipping...
« on: July 05, 2006, 10:35:40 AM »
Thursday will be a month since an order was placed, and it took them over a
week to answer an email. Hope they are still solvent.  >:(

I went through the same thing. I figured they hadn't gotten my order, so I went ahead and got some of the stuff I needed from the local stealer. Sure enough, the day after I install the new parts, I get the order confirmation! Now I'll have a bunch of extra stuff laying around... >:(

i haven't heard back from them either - do they read english???

their site was screwed up - i tried to change my shipping address and the address line wouldn't drop my house number - all the OTHER text, but not the number - wierd...

i wrote them last wednesday and haven't heard back. which sucks because they're the only place i've found what i need... :P

Just a FYI about CMS. A couple of years ago I was looking for exhaust parts for my '68 175. I emailed CMS with a scan from the Honda workshop manual to confirm what I wanted, because I did not have the exact part numbers. They emailed back and assured me that they had exactly what I wanted, so I placed the (not cheap) order.

Lo and behold the parts that arrived were for a 125. When I asked them what could be done to resolve this their response was that the part numbers were the same and that therefore they would not do anything about the mix-up, despite that fact that the parts they sent did not look anything like the pictures I had sent in the first place. It left a bit of a bad taste and I resolved never to deal with them again.

The happy ending is that thanks to eBay I sold the parts and made some of my money back, and I found correct 175 parts privately.

Moral to the story: get a parts manual for your bike and only order parts by part number, especially when dealing offshore.

FYI...The parts finally arrived....after five weeks...and were correct.  DSS is much
faster...usually one week...and cheaper.  I just wish they would list part numbers
on their site...not just descriptions.

Hello,
sometimes they have not all requested parts in stock, so they are waiting with your shipment until all parts are available.
The problem is that they do not inform you about this circumstance.
If you need the parts urgently, give them a call or write an email that they should ship the parts which are available.
Next problem, in this case you have to pay the shipping costs two times.
Otherwise, if they have the parts in stock a fast shipment is guaranteed.

@all: If you have placed your order, you should receive a confirmation email a few minutes later,
the same when they have shipped the order.

@Jim: PM me, with your ordered parts (order number and name) and i will give em a call in order to know what's going wrong.

Never have had problems at all with orders within Europe.

This is precisely what happened to me once. Eventually I did send an eMail inquiry and they explained the back order situation. Since it was not urgent I just waited, all arrived in about two weeks.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Have you asked them?  They are very comfortable with website feedback.  I've been on at them for months (years?) about their listing format and the inclusion of pictures.  They've slowly been introducing pictures and I notice this week that the 500/4 pages have them!!

What a great summer job for a student? "We want you to go through our stores and photograph every different part for the website" ...

What brought about my recent request for part numbers was I ordered
"badge clips"....well the ones for the side panels and the tank are totally
different.  Fortunately, I needed both so it didn't matter. Having part
numbers to compliment descriptions would have assured me ordering
the correct part. Pictures would be even better.  ;)

There service is top notch though....fast shipping with everything I have
ordered from them.
