Does oil age like wine?

Have some 3 year old motor oil in sealed containers, it should be like new?

Yeah - but if it's corked it quickly become undrinkable  ;D

In the UK anything over 40 years old only needs insurance and Fuel.

You should be fine. Once you put it in a engine the bad stuff begins to happen.

Make sure you let it breathe for at least an hour.  Then don't drink to much or you'll get a headache ;)

I have wondered about this myself since I have an old case of oil up on the shelf also.  I think it should be fine.

and then a few years from now you can pull a prank on your buddies by getting them to dig a post hole in the exact location where you burried the oil and exclaim, "Thars earl in them thar ground!"
