530 - 100 Parts Unlimited O-Ring Chain?
« on: July 14, 2006, 08:39:44 AM »
Dennis Kirk is selling a 530 - 100 Parts Unlimited O-Ring Chain for my 72 CB750 @ $68. Will it be compatable with my bike?  It is rated for 1000cc engines.

All of the Tsubaki chains in the 530 range, except for the QR Pro Gold, Sigma, and Omega chains are not rated for engines bigger than 650cc.  I know some guys are running the Tsubaki HSL on their 750s but they are only rated for 650cc engines.

Advice?

Thanks,
Sparty

Never seen the engine size rating system on chains before, but a modern 650cc engine puts out way more power than a 34 year old one.  The Tsubaki 530 chains are more than strong enough for the 750.

Ive been using a tsubaki sigma and omega chains on my CB750s (K4s) with stock sprockets. Id use a 102 or 104 link. I think 100 is a bit too short. No issues using tsubaki -they are excellent chains.
