IS THIS A SANDCAST RECESSED IGNITION ON MY '74 750?
« on: January 08, 2013, 10:51:30 AM »
I continue to plug away on my recent pick up 74' 750.  The PO informed me when he dropped it off that the key doesn't come out. This am I decided to replace it. Upon looking further I always thought the key was the plunger type. I was able to get the key out. The ignition looks like the recessed ones on eBay for a Sandcast. Is it?

Plus note: the ignition works. Bad is the key has a crack in it. Weird.

Sure looks like the recessed to me. What is strange is the recessed for the sandcast and KO have the round female plug like yours. The K4 is supposed to have the square female plug.

Ah there is a modded wire that connected to the ignition pictured. That was squared. The key is a T code too. Some research I've done states sandcast will have the T code. May have been a cool find but I have no use for it.

Thanks johnie!

I see they go for stupid money. If a member needs it and offers reasonable price, I have no problem letting it go. The bad part is the key does have a crack in it. I know I can get a key to work in the ignition but it won't be the plunger type.

SHoot I would even take a few parts in trade

Yeah the big money is reserved for kits with intact keys with the bumper on them.
