Well what I consider mint is probably different from others.It is complete with 6300 miles but the engine was seized.Chrome is all good and there.Bike will retain most of the stock characteristics, just stripped down.It is a nice bike and i got it super cheap from a GI shipping out.I look foward to learning a lot about these simple bikes.

I want to keep it a simple cafe build but the more I look into it, I see tons of money going into it.I am doing a minor engine rebuild maybe a big bore, dual front disc, cb650 cam was thinking of a cb750 swing arm and wheel with disc in the rear if I can find a spoke disc rear wheel.SS rectifier, eelctronic ignition.I have a 4 into 1 exhaust, looks like a mac that I have on a 78GS1000 that I will make fit by tweaking it.I want to keep it the factory rootbeer brown color.For the most part, it will be more elbow grease with polishing the chrome and aluminum cases and covers.

I am an old fogey very interested in this site.  I used to own a cb550 F in the early eighties and a Suzuki 550L.   Both engines I repaired and maintained on my own.  I had a lot of fun but family life came to call and I put away and sold my escape pods.  Fast track 25 yrs later and I bought back in with company this time.  My wife and I began to cycle again.  First doubled up and then paired up on separate bikes. She began by taking a course and riding a hondaVT600. Today we own a pair of fatboys and cruise New England's scenic coast.  We have made it a couple times to the Vintage bike show at the Transportation Museum, Owls Head, ME.  It renewed my interest in  my bikes of yesteryear.   This past fall I picked up a 73' cb750 and make it my winter project.  She had 28K on and some character for being 40 yrs old.  Some good points too.

This forum has some amazing people.  It is a great source of information, ideas, imagination. The passion for this era of motorcycle is engulfing.  I just wanted a winter project and it is becoming an obsession.  Under great advice, I have begun this journey.

(sorry vinhead1957 poached your thread  ::) )
plenty of forum members between you and me.
we did a nice PNW ride while back.
many members from north of the border came down to join up.
we usually hit rainier once a summer for the day.  hurricane ridge this next spring.  keep an eye out on the PNW board here.  events get posted there.
