Hi out put oil pump 400/4
« on: January 09, 2013, 12:17:19 am »
Hi

I have been told that Dixon racing marketed a big bore oil pump from Yoshimura for the 400/4. That this was required to help with no1 journal?
Anyone got one? Is there another way of increasing the oil supply to the big ends?

Thanks Chris

Chris, try Kevin at TTR400, he used to upgrade your existing pump as a service.

Hi Specweld

Thankyou
I looked on the tt400 website. Nicely detailed page on how to modify the pump with a 750 rotar.
Shame he is off travelling cos he has a lot of great parts.

Gerrit
Thanks for the advice. Similar mod?

I'm still here for now, only planning on leaving around May this year.
Initially I modified the 750 rotor, but found most of the 750 pumps I bought were badly pitted and could not be used, so now I make my own rotors to my spec. these I have wire cut from a special steel and then liquid nitrided.
Just done a pump for a customer it was my last rotor, but I will try to do another small batch before I leave.
