I got my stuff today and I'm a happy camper. Took a little while to get here, but that is what happens when you ship from WA. to GA.

I got my order at the end of last week, same deal- took a little bit, but no longer than Service Honda takes.  I assume they have to order the parts themselves, then ship them to us.

Just so happened I started another project and needed some parts for it, so another order off to these guys. :)

Who are "these guys"   If your talking about South Sound Honda it takes about a week and a half.  They have to order
the parts from Honda and then ship to you.  I have placed 5 orders with them and have had nothing but perfect results and prices.
If a week and a half is too long, you'll have to go somewhere else and more than likely pay more.  In most cases alot more.

Well aren't I the fool.  Just called. apparently confirmation went to spam.  They were very nice on the phone btw.  Insert foot in mouth now.

I've removed the two above posts so as not confuse anyone w/ the negative feedback.

Love these guys. They've gotten a pretty penny from me for my
Restoration and will continue to get my business. Friendly folks and although we are in polar opposite corners of the US they still get stuff to me in a week and a half, sometimes less. Fantastic folks, don't hesitate to buy from them!

I agree that honndabike.com has the lowest OEM prices I've found yet but so far I haven't placed an order from them because their shipping seems a bit high. I can find the same OEM part on ebay with free shipping and get the same thing for less. I hope to do business with them someday but for now their shipping prices have pushed me elsewhere.

Thanks for an additional parts source!  I've always had great prices and service from HondaParts-Direct.com and Honda Direct Line but it's good to have another one for sure, especially if they are a bit less spendy.

I have ordered from them in the past (and placed a large order about a week ago), but it appears the dealer has changed hands or something because it now takes you to a different website and the parts fiche is gone.  I hope it comes back -- their prices were good.

Yeah, I was disappointed to see the fiche was gone. I'm back to ordering from partzilla.com for now, I guess.

I ordered some stuff from them online and went down there to pick it. I talked to the parts guy a bit and he asked whats up with all the online ordering of CB750 stuff. Apparently they have been FLOODED with parts orders from around the US. I don't think they liked all the attention. The parts guy told me that if I wanted to order anything just give him a call. They quickly realized they had the lowest prices.... oh well.

I have found personally that cyclepartsoutlet.com has had the best pricing on Honda OEM for me but I will have to look at these other guys for my parts orders in the future.

Just got this email from South Sound.  Sounds like their new site is not fully functional yet, so maybe the parts fiche will be back.
I placed some large orders with them in the past and saved a lot of money.  Sure hope they bring it back.

Glad to find some other options for low price parts.  I've found deals in Ron Ayers site, too. I've used partzilla a few times but never again.

I've been waiting on parts they've said they have in stock for over 2 weeks, they cancelled part of my order because they didn't know what parts they could order, when I called, I was on hold for a very long time, the csr was rude and not very helpful. She told me (after I insisted) that she would put in for me to receive expedited shipping. After one more call, the parts shipped...not expedited.  So I am still waiting, way hung my parts sit in shipping centers in Georgia and Florida.

Wish I had taken the time to see what sites you guys use before I started ordering parts for my rebuild.  This site rocks.

Used them twice in the past month. It did take a full week to get here in SC.

I ordered a part recently and learned a few things:

Western Hills Honda, Cincinnati, retail price ~$118
Service Honda, Indiana, discounted price ~$89 but $20 shipping
Honda parts direct, Texas, discounted price $90 + $11 ship
South Sound, deep discounted price $80

Shipping: the part moved from state to state by United Parcel Service, 2 days, when it got to my town UPS delivered it to USPostal Service for local delivery, 2 days!

I'd say we are fortunate to have choices for our 40 year old bikes.
Its a piece of cake to click, click, click and the part shows up on your porch in a short while.

Ive never had my local Honda Dealer get beat yet.

Went in to talk with them one day, and asked 'how can I get parts @ cost'?
He said, we can set you up with an account, put a credit card on file, and always have your part numbers ready when ordering.  Like other small cycle shops do, when needing to order parts from the dealer.

Which...if you look @ my shop, with 14+ cycles...guess, I kind of have an 'independent shop'!  :)

Never hurts to ask.  + over the years, I've gotten calls about bikes that people are wanting to trade in, but they don't want.  That's a connection, I don't think anyone would want to give up!

Plus with best prices on parts, and I get to pick them up locally?  Winning!
Come on!  We're burning daylight!

After much research I found Partzilla to be cheaper over all when including shipping when they had the $1.65 1st Class mail option. They have since dropped that and now have the standard shipping in the $10 area. Hondabike.com seems to have substantially lower pricing the Partzilla. A $3.73 part from Partzilla was only $3.00, that's 20% cheaper. That's 1 free part for every 5 you buy.

my local Honda Dealer
Lucky you Grasscutter.... :)

my local Honda Dealer
Has lots of cool new bikes to choose from, parts, accessories, service, but....
..... is 12 1/2 miles away in the wrong direction, never has the part I want (and I really don't expect them to have it) so it takes me TWO trips, 50 miles driving, 1hr+++ drive time, wait in line...

Shopping for Honda parts online has opened my eyes about a few things:

I get parts (and great advice from SOHC4 about which ones I need and where to find them) from all over the world, when I used to be limited to what my local dealer would do for me.
I see the UPS/FedEx trucks hauling up and down my street all the time and now I know why.
I think my resto/rider would be in a far different place without these internet resources.

You can use your local Honda Dealer just like the computer.  Call them with the part number, no need to go there to order the part.  They will tell you the price and ask if you want them to order it.  Place the order and go pick it up in a few days.  You'll pay sales tax but not shipping.  As was already mentioned most dealers and online retailers do not stock these parts.  You order from them and they order from American Honda.  The order either drop ships to you from Honda or the retailer/dealer gets it shipped direct to them and they reship it.
