Just finished bolting up my ~~750~~ ~~895~~ 888 motor. Henry abe 67mm pistons and an old school Andrews Racing D1 grind cam. I removed the honda logo off the stator cover, and the ridges/750 from the cam cover.

That looks cool. How did you get the stator cover like that? By hand?

Its was done by hand...... angle grider with an aluminum grinding wheel. Then a final shaping and finish with a scotch brite disk. Its the only option I had. The cover had some deep scrapes in it.

Short, that motor looks fantastic! I like that stator over too.
Did you paint the ss(?) cover bolts black?

The bolts were already in the motor. They're not stainless; i painted them black to keep them from rusting. I made sure there was plenty of antiseize on them also.

I had some bar clamps from other bikes that got clip-ons (cb350,450). I filed them flat and coutersunk them so I could ditch the idiot lights.

With the frame primed I turned my attention to the tank. I found a ton of bondo down a crushed left side. I bought it from guy on the site, but there was no way from him to know that. The situation got worse when trying to smooth out the knee indents. I anealed the metal but tore a hole in it where the knee indent met the crease from the crushed side. I'm blaming the rusty inside

I'm still on the fence which color to paint the frame. Its to cold to paint today so I have about 48 hours to deside.

2. Sterling Silver

Sorry...... I'm out of Jet Black. I had just enough for the lower triple, and front rotor.

tools used.
1. angle grinder with aluminium grinding wheel
2. 80 grit flap wheel to level it out
3. air tool with red scotchbrite, then brown, followed by blue
4. sanding: 320 400 600 800 1500
5 polished

i went slow and removed only enough to make it even. 1/8" maybe.

Making a light insert. You can try and glass the housing in but its gonna come loose eventually. So this is an easy way to do it right

Some PVA on the housing. Its smooth enough; you could most likely just wax it without problems.

So I desided on silver but I think I was a little heavy with the flakes. It didn't look like to much in the booth.
