Where'd all the stock 4 into 4 HM300's & 341's go ?
« on: January 13, 2013, 10:21:51 am »
Can't find any new sets of HM300s or 341s anywhere except for Yamiya....

Anybody know of anybody with a set left ?     Even a really nice used set would do.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

and all the old ones are rusted and trash.  I'm betting by next year someone will be producing some reasonably ($600?) priced repops.

I have a set of HM341's sitting in my basement. I removed them for a gent whose '73 (
I recall) 750 I made rideable and, although I tried to inform him that they were in "OK" condition, he demanded the internet low $$ replacement that only took a ball peen hammer to get to fit properly around the stand.

I cleaned one up and it's actually quite beautiful. I can't speak for the others as they're still quite greasy. I think I'll take the afternoon to clean them up instead of working on that old KZ in the basement. If they end-up tolerable, I'll let y'all know.

I like my Hondas original as well...

And so, three of the four pipes are serviceable. The left inner has a hole at the muffler/pipe seam. I didn't bother to clean it. The right inner is rusty on the engine side of the pipe just below the head - at least with polish. Still operational. The outers look nice, cosmetic cover and all. Maybe no better than any others out there?

Texas? I just don't ship these things - really don't know how so sorry to be a tease. Someone can always come to NW Georgia and grab 'em. Y'all can PM me and I can take pics. I don't know what they're worth. Make a reasonable offer if you're interested.

That's what I've been running into for the last year K3. The left inner pipe is always the worst of the bunch for some reason :( And of course that's the one I need

I wonder if they are worse from all the chain splatter and rub and the stands hit them.

Some parts are actually "preserved" by lube and oil leaks.  Notice this recently on my K5 project bike, need to find/fix that leak.

Ebay always has them 4 sale. I've been thru so many pipes, maybe 300 pipes give or take....half were good, half were rotten. This is an old photo. Now I only have 1 set and its on the bike.

The production molds are worned out, both for the CB 750 and the CB 500/550. They will be reproduced soon, I am sure, and then the price will drop to normal again ;)

Out of stock - a few months ago they had several sets - 2 choices:  Honda or the replacements in the link.

I have yet to see the "fake" Honda pipes in person, but I'm about to give it a try - as soon as they are back in stock.

I really hate buying 1 pipe at a time from ebay - the photos and descriptions are usually better than reality.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

I know on his last 750 project forum member Johnie said he had a hard time getting a good set of new 341's from Honda. He said he returned set after set before finally getting a decent set. Bad chrome was the problem I think.
