anyone with experience with carpy's exhuast? http://www.cb750cafe.com/products-page/exhaust/cb750-4-into-1-exhaust-sohc/ i believe he only sells these bare so it would have to be coated. how is fitment with it? would it work with a 78' cb750F model? and do we lose access to the oil filteR?

I had his pipe , and I liked it. It fit well, but you need to take it down for every oil change. I eventually swapped it for a stainless MOTOGPWERKS pipe. The moto pipe is a lot nicer, since it is stainless, and TIG welded. The moto pipe also is 3 piece, and held together with springs. This is good because when you need to get to the oil filter, you just pull the springs and never need to un bolt anything . But even at that, its still a little work to get the moto pipe apart. In all honesty though, unbolting the whole pipe from the head isn't really a big deal.

Chris {motogpwerks} used to make Carpy's pipes, they are a Yoshimura replica, chris's new pipes are ver similar but nicer.... Have a look...

I have the carpy on my 76 550. It sounds absolutely tuff with it on. I like the way it looks, and hasnt been a problem at all yet going on my 2nd season this year. Putting the headers on is a lil work, well at least for mine it is. And for the price it was perfect on my pocket. I must say i do like that rep yosh pipe very much and i did mark it for future possible changeups

The carpy is a good price but I like the fact that the motowerks is 3 piece will it fit on a 500

After doing some research I've narrowed down my list to these two systems, as they sound amazing. Ceramic jet coat in white on carpys possible.

ohh.. didnt know, i just figured carpy exhaust. Hmmm thanks didnt know. But with that in mind the carpy exhausts are selling at i think 280$ ...something around that price. I didnt powder mine but was going to. I decided to just wrap mine this off season with exhaust tape

I have been contemplating between Carpy's and Motogpworks as well to replace my current unknown 4-1. The only hesitation i have is that they are only connected to headers while my current one has a connection near rear sets to help support entire exhaust system. So my question is do you guys think this is a valid concern? with all the vibration and bumps while riding, can this cause damage to threads without more support?

The MotoGPWerks 4-1 stainless pipe has a 6mm nut/nub welded on the pipe a few inches from the end of the silencer. It matches up almost perfectly with the original rear exhaust hanger/passenger peg on my 76 550k.n I just cut a small piece of metal an connected the two. It is very discrete and holds it rock solid. Without that hanger I personally would be concerned to have all the header and silencer weight pulling down and forward on the exhaust flanges. The quality of the MotoGPWerks pipe is excellent and has the trick, custom retro-mod look I personally like. Only problem is you kinda have to stay in touch with Chris to get in line for one. Best to send him an email telling him you want one and be ready to move on it when he gets one together.

Try the Cycle Exchange exhaust. 4 into 2 into 1 and it allows changing of the oil filter.

Damn those motogpwerks pipes are so sexy! Thats what I want on mine! Raw stainless w/ the springs for easy removal. I like more of a reverse cone though, aesthetically.

They may be twice as much but I'd bet you get what you pay for. Plus Carpy just rubs me the wrong way.......jmo.
