I have been wanting a Honda twin for some time so I finally picked up a new project, 1975 cl360. I am fighting the temptation to do an over the top build on this one since I will be riding this year round and throwing on the back of the Expedition for vacation.

Day I brought her home

Strip down the first day.

Happy to find the fork was recently rebuilt with new springs and Forks by Frank fork tubes.

Engine is out, cases split and inspected. Another bonus was a recent .50 overbore.

Second day was spent media blasting.

Plan for the build is to clean everything up, rather than powdercoat everything I am going to give Por15 a try. For the engine I will be rebuilding, headjob and freshen up all oil seals and gaskets. Might even just re clear all the tins to keep the vintage patina.

Tore the carbs apart last night and will ship off to Mike Nixon (Oldfart / http://www.cb750carbs.com/) for ultrasonic cleaning, Thanks Mike!

Rims and tires are in for the scrambler. Excel shouldered rims with stainless spokes and powdercoated hubs.

Kenda dual sport tires

All the rest of the parts are blasted, cleaned and ready for paint or powdercoat. Hope to have the cases painted and cured by the weekend so I can start putting the engine back together.

I love the way these little bikes look. Talk about a fun bike. Back in the 80's when I had a mullet and was in high school I had a 350 and a good friend had a 360. These bikes were bullet proof. Change the oil, put some gas in and ride the crap out of them.

I am surpised there is not a bigger following for these bikes. They are great city bikes.

Only Honda twin I have ever owned was a 78 400T and it was a great bike. I am really looking forward to ripping around town on this one once its done.

Larry, One definition of an over the top build for me is my 77cb750f, now 915cc. Every inch of the bike / engine has been rebuilt, upgraded, right down to all new stainless fasteners.

I to thought of keeping the scrambler as is, but I really needed a winter project to keep me busy.

I remember the F build-an exceptional bike btw. I'll be checking this build-I just picked up a 72 CB350. my first Honda(the one that led to the addiction) was a sweet candy red and white with rubber knee pads 350. Have fun....Larry

Some more work done over the past few days. Front end rebuilt and back on, new Hagon rear shocks, bronze bushings in the swingarm.

Added some Pro Taper bars to update the front end a bit, but will be keeping the stock turn signals just freshened up a bit.

I just got my cam back from being freshened up so I hope to button up the engine and get it back in the frame this weekend.

Very nice build. I have a similar project in my S90. I want to bring it on vacation and when the family goes night night....daddy goes out for a whip. Problem with the 90 is the lack of balls though. Good luck and thanks for the inspiration to look for a cl360! (darn you)

Engine is buttoned up and in the frame, man I love long weekends and my understanding wife.
These engines are a breeze to rebuild and install compared to the 750.

I have been wanting a scrambler for years and finally stumbled across this one. I rebuilt a 90 for a buddy (still owes me $$ for the parts) a couple years ago. The 90 is definitely on my list of bikes to own, they are a kick in the ass to ride.

I really like the S90, and even had a CL90 for short while. Just a little too slow. So, I got a CB160 to scratch the itch for a bike like the S90. I do think the S90 are definitely sleeker looking though.

OK. enough of my thread jack. I have had you pro taper bars on my mind since last peeking through the pics. It is amazing how such an addition can change the whole mood and feel of a bike. Thing could be bone stock, throw those bars on and...its already more aggressive.
