I see some culture shock coming... 8)

Eh, I don't know about that. I'm not exactly a sheltered individual. I'm moving from a place with very little culture, so I'm very ready for a shock of culture in the best way possible.

I went through some definite culture shock when I moved to Sunnyvale, in '80. Hell, I moved from San Luis Obispo! It was only a 150 mile move, but it seemed like a different world..
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Not sure when the move will happen. Probably within the next couple of months. For me it depends on a job, mostly. She's starting school in late March, most likely.

In all likelihood I'll probably cart the 550 and a bunch of other crap in the back of a U-Haul or something. Or maybe on a trailer, that way I can stop and go for a ride whenever I get the urge. It's also possible that I may have to wait a few months before I can bring it out. Depends on if I have a place to park it safely. I've got some work to do on that bike and the CL350 in my garage in the meantime. Although this stupid job gets in the damn way of that 5 days a week...

California just voted to raise taxes on itself, so be prepared for that.

Plenty of roads to travel, but not in the best shape on a few of the roads.

Lots of great riding weather.

When I was living in the city I would just throw some money in the tank and get lost. Thats the best way to find your way around the city. Watch out for those one way streets, and crazy pedestrians.
