Just found this thread!

Here's my '78 CB750 K8. I picked it up in November a day after I got my M endorsement. It was in rougher shape than what you see here. I've basically done everything required by the 3,000 tune-up and she runs great. I've put about 1,000 miles on it. Would be more, but we've had some garbage weather here in DC.

Build thread in my sig.

I've got the most uncool of the them! A 77 auto. Haven't riden it yet, it's still in project mode..

Of course it had all the fairings and bags you could pile on it when I got it but I took care of that and with a 120v to 12v adapter I got a kinda cool shop ornament out of it.

Try ITS (International Title Service) out of Nevada. Great service, works well!

Here's my 1977 I am fairly certain it's a JDM. Rear disc brake and alloy F2 style footrest hangers

Here's my 1977 F2 that I bought as a 450 dollar eBay wreck. It had been smashed, crashed, and set on fire at different times in it's unfortunate life before I bought it, and the only items that I could salvage from the original bike were the frame, wheels, front fork lowers, and engine cases.

With help from some members here, and eBay, and David Silver Spares (and a couple of swap meets) I was able to return it to it's former glory. (with a few sensible mods to aid it's longevity) The F2/F3 was a good bike if well maintained, (this was my second F2, my first one was in superb condition when I bought it) but they were a little less robust than the "K Series" bikes, and even though they produce a whopping 3 BHP more than the earlier engines, and handle a little better, this is not reflected in their resale value, when I eventually sold mine, I only got about half of what it cost me back.

As nice as they are, they're definitely not an investment like an early K bike. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yep, looks like domestic K7. If the speedometer ist original, it would also be different from all other K7 models. Very nice.

"Actually", it depends on what document your basing your "knowledge" on Wobbly, I've seen 3, 4 and 6 BHP differences stated in various manuals and articles, so I erred on the conservative side. ;D

Terry,
That's actually also from the Honda sales brochures and German titles. I also have a collection of tests from various mc magazines around the world. Back then, they also actually listed the accurate top speed in sales flyers (sample below)  and in the title in Germany, while now you simply get a ">200 km/h" even tough top speed of such a bike might be 300kmh.  And the Germans don't "frick" around with numbers. :) The Fuehrer wouldn't have it any other way. Now they follow EU guidelines. Seriously though, everyone here knows the hp of their vehicles while in the States nobody seems to care. I know, that some books got these numbers wrong. Anyway, the F2 is the fastest of them all. Top speed, it would blow me away easily while acceleration is faster with the K. I just saw one on FB in pretty good, unmolested original condition with title for $ 1200. A real bargain. You went the super expensive way--but you saved one. And that I like a lot: another one preserved.

Thanks for that Wobbly, while both my F2's were nice bikes, I've always preferred the early K's, but I do have another F2 frame, engine and forks in my garage, so who knows? I might dip my toe into the F pool again sometime......... Cheers, Terry. ;D

Terry, the pamphlet that Wobbly posted shows the F2 with the "HONDA" badge fitted to the rear of the tail piece instead of the top the tail piece. I have never seen that before - maybe it's an F3 thing? It also shows me that the "HONDA" logo was not painted on the rear of the seat. Pat
