I always liked being the rebel. Here she is the day I brought her home in all her disco glory and then this summer.

I had early desires to go cafe crazy on a CB750, but once I got her home and stripped some of the junk off she was just too clean to hack up. Ended up with a basket case rust bucket CL360 that I'm chopping and grinding on. I'm trying to keep this bike as period cafe as possible without hacking and keeping that sweet 70's feel.

here is my 77 P7. carbs and Caliper are off already and nice and clean. still waiting for my big package with spares from vintagecb750. and have to build a shed to work on it. in the moment i wrench on my veranda

.but maybe i take the offer from my wife and rebuild the whole bike on the veranda. always near to the fridge

.want to be finished in about 3-4 months and make nice tour here in the philippines. good to have 30 celsius even in the winter

Black 1978... still a few carb issues but running strong... but not right now as it's -40 Celsius.

FYI... minus 40 is where Celsius and Fahrenheit meet

There are 16600+ members here and only a handful have a 77/78 sohc? come on,this can not be true.and if its true then our bikes seems more rare than a sandcast

I know it well, I'm on my second '77 CB550 (this time an F) and I also have a '77 Goldwing. If I had a spare $850 I would also own the '78 750F that's currently on Craigslist in my area.

Hard choice, made much easier by the fact that there was a big dent in the tank already, presumably from the bike tipping over at some point. I was worried about the bottom edge of the tank getting pulled up and in by the hammering so I cut out a couple pieces of wood that followed the contour of the bottom of the tank and placed the tank on top of them while I hammered. That little flange along the bottom of the tank hugged the wood so it kept it's shape. Say what you will about the 77-78 CB750s but I really like the big tank. Sort of bad ass. I think I am going to have a problem with the clubmans though. In order for them to clear the tank, I need to rotate them up and forward and me thinks its a little too far forward.

Here is the tank in it's current state, primed but not quite ready. I still have another afternoon of bondo and fill primer work to get it right before painting. I plan on painting it gloss black, which will show every little ding, I'm sure. This has been my first experience with bondo. Man that stuff hardens fast. Wish I could play with it a little longer before if starts firming up.
