Had like 5 of them the past few years. Good reliable bikes like most of those early Honda's. No known problems that I have encountered. Pretty easy to work on and parts still available mainly from eBay. You can also try www.hondatwins.net to find parts. You can pretty much clean the carbs without taking them off the bike. The only issue I had was I am 6 foot tall and after a couple hours riding I would feel cramped. I could have remedied that by getting some highway bars, but I wanted to keep them stock. Then once I really got into the CB750 it turned out I would rather be riding the 750 so I sold the 400's. If you need something particular let me know as I have some parts left here.

I've got an 81 CM400C I've been working on here and there for a long time now, not much spare time these days but I'm hoping to have it roadworthy this spring.

So the owner and I came to terms on a price.  We set up a meeting to switch cash for the bike.  All is set.  Then I get a text. He decided to sell it to someone else.  I remind him of our deal but he does not budge.  I offer more cash and he turns me down.  In the end he sold the bike to someone else.  That sucked.

I so hate that shid!

Happened to me also. Being honest on the bike for what it was then he told me he didn't like me and the bike was not for sale.

Called him fricken trailer trash and left. (I carry so no problem there)

Relax, there are enough of those bikes to go around.  Keep looking and you will find one.  Very easy bike to work on.   This stuff happens.  If I had a dime for all the times I tried to buy a bike and the seller sold it out from under me just as I was going there with the cash, I would be a billionaire.
